
Panattoni, Europe's leading logistics-industrial real estate developer, has announced today that the building permit has been granted to commence construction of the first phase of a 42 MWs data center located in ‘Parc de l'Alba’ in Cerdanyola del Vallès, Barcelona.
A campus spanning up to 50,169 sqm with a total installed capacity of 88 MWs is planned for development on this site. It is expected to become the largest data center in Catalonia in the coming years. The project will be executed in two phases. The first phase will feature 42 MWs of installed power and cover 21,292 sqm, while the second phase will add 46 MWs and an additional 28,877 sqm, including the construction of an on-site electrical substation.
Phase I, is estimated to have a 14-month construction period and is projected to be operational by the end of 2026. The investment for the turnkey project in its first phase is estimated at 300 million euros. The contract for connecting 42 MWs of medium voltage power from the nearest substation to the site is set to be awarded this month, with completion expected by June of this year.
